Our Story
The Back 40 has been family owned and operated since 2024, continuing a legacy that spans three generations on the same property; before becoming an event and landscape venue, the land supported a succession of agricultural uses—first a sheep farm, then cattle pastures, and later a horse boarding operation—each chapter shaping its open fields, sturdy fences, and quiet lanes. Today the family blends that rural heritage with modern stewardship, preserving the agricultural character while adapting the grounds for gatherings, outdoor recreation, and sustainable land management, honoring the past while welcoming new memories.

Chris — Co-owner
Chris is the creative force behind the land. He oversees property care and general maintenance, blending practical expertise with a strong eye for design to keep the grounds healthy, attractive, and event-ready.Amy — Co-owner
Amy is the tour extraordinaire and parking director who keeps operations flowing. A natural problem solver, she manages logistics, coordinates guest arrivals, and handles whatever comes up to make every event run smoothly.Kelsee — General Manager
Kelsee leads client communication and manages our social presence. She coordinates details across teams, supports onsite needs, and takes on the “Hitch-on” duties that keep events organized and on schedule.

Cody Drake
Cody is the dependable muscle behind every event at Back 40 Events. He handles heavy lifting and setup with precision and care, ensuring tents, tables, stages, and décor are positioned quickly and safely. Cody also provides hands-on assistance with “Hitch-Ons” — assisting with parking or providing transportation on one of our hayrides.
